Hi all! My name is Kelly Cook and I am excited to be bringing Vinyasa yoga to CrossFit Hideout in a few days! If you are unfamiliar with Vinyasa, it is an athletic form of yoga that will be a great addition to a regular CF schedule. Your body will thank you!
I started practicing Vinyasa about 3 years ago in addition to working out at CF 2-3 times a week and the two workouts were a perfect balance for me. In December of 2016, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I continued to practice up until treatment time and resumed as soon as I could following treatment. My yoga practice helped me to maintain core strength which was critical to recovery and range of motion that cleared me through PT immediately. In April of this year, I completed my 200 hour RYT teacher training through the Upaya School of yoga arts and I am currently in school to obtain my "Yoga for Cancer" certification so I can teach to cancer survivors.
