August Member Spotlight: Gina DeRocini
AUGUST 2017 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: GINA DEROCINI !!! Everyone! We would like to introduce our August Member Spotlight, Gina DeRocini! Gina has been with us since January 7, 2016! She is a 12 year old rock star and is such a hard worker. She is the sweetest, and makes everyone feel welcome. She has been involved in competitions inside and outside of the gym. What are your hobbies, interests, talents outside of CrossFit HideOut? Outside of CrossFit I play for a travel soccer team, and am trying field hockey. I also have my own business online.
How long have you been doing CrossFit? I have been doing CrossFit for almost 2 years!!
What accomplishments are you most proud of at CrossFit HideOut? The accomplishment I am most proud of is being able to do all kinds of HSPUs and wall walks.
What advice would you give to someone starting CrossFit for the first time? If you are just starting CrossFit I would give the advice to make the best of every situation even if there are certain things you may not like. And don't make excuses why you can't do it and just try your best, no one is judging you.
What is your favorite type of WOD? My favorite type of WOD is partner WODs because there is always someone there to push you through!
What is your least favorite movement? My least favorite move is 100% burpees over bar, I hate them so much!
What is your next CrossFit goal you would like to achieve? My next goal I want to achieve at CrossFit is Pull-Ups and toes to bar.
We know that you've really been focusing on your nutrition as well recently. What do your daily meals consist of and how are you feeling since making changes to your diet? It’s hard for me to always focus on nutrition when you're young and all of your friends around you don't really mind what they’re eating, but I always try to make healthy decisions. For breakfast I like to have some type of fruit, then for lunch I usually have salad with chicken (I love salad!) Then for dinner I like to have meat with some kind of vegetable or rice. What do you say to friends at school when you tell them you do CrossFit?! When I tell my friends and people at school about CrossFit they're really impressed because not many kids my age go to CrossFit. And most of the time there exact words are, "No way!"
